Board Election Information
DISTRICT BOARD ELECTIONS
The Nevada County Consolidated Fire District is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors, who are elected at-large by voters within District boundaries to serve staggered four-year terms. If a Director resigns or is no longer able to hold the seat, appointment is also possible.
Prospective candidate(s) must be a registered voter and reside within District boundaries to be eligible to run for office.
Elections are held every two years, during even-year November General Elections.
Elections are conducted by Nevada County. Prospective candidate(s) interested in running for office are required to file candidate nomination papers with Nevada County. Prospective candidate(s) may contact Nevada County Elections Division.

Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests under §87200 of the Political Reform Act. The Act requires public disclosure of certain investments, interests and incomes that may pose potential conflicts of interest. Newly elected public officials are required to attend Ethics Training and Harassment Prevention Training within one year of taking office.
